‘지난 7년의 기록, 붓질하듯 셔터를 눌렀다.’
이상윤(67세. 부산거주)사진가는 장애인(지체2급)이다. 때문에 무얼 하든 전동 휠체어에 의지해야 했고, 도전과 극복이라는 순서가 운명처럼 따라다녔다. 화가가 되고 싶었다는 꿈을 가난한 살림에 입 밖으로 꺼내 놓을 수 없었던 운명처럼, 부산대학교 법정대학에서는 법학을 경성대학교 약학대학에서는 약학을 공부했다.

약사로서 은퇴(2018년)와 더불어 본격적인 사진가의 길을 선언하는 계기가 될 정도로, 순간 무엇보다도 필요했던 것은 사진가로서 불멸이 될 테마였다. 수많은 날을 고민하며 거리를 헤맸다. 그러다가 우연히 지친 몸을 이끌고 발을 들인 곳이 부산역 광장이었다. 도시의 눈부신 발전을 대표하는 역전을 이용하는 각양각색의 분주함을 무시하듯이 똬리를 튼 노숙부랑인들의 땅이었던 부산역 광장, 카메라에 담고 싶다는 아드레날린이 솟구쳤다.
세상만사 부조리함에 사나워진 목소리를, 행동을, 눈빛을, 하지만 셔터를 누룰 수가 없었다. 다음날로 없는 돈을 털어 빵과 커피를 사 들고 찾아가 보이지 않는 벽을 허물기 위해 셔터를 누룰 수가 없었던 카메라를 보여주며 공을 들였다. 그리고 그런 시간이 한 달이 넘어가자, 자신들의 식구가 되기 위해 노력하는 장애인의 정성에 감동이라도 한 걸일까?
