[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시의 대표 특산물이자 단감 시배지인 진영단감이 새로운 품종으로 해외 시장 개척에 나섰다.
김해시는 25일 진영읍 본산리 경남단감원예농협 산지유통센터에서 농협, 시, 수출업체 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 '태추단감'의 첫 수출 선적 행사를 가졌다.
이날 선적된 햇 태추단감 408kg(약 3,000달러 상당)은 태국으로 향했다. 이번 선적은 김해 진영에서 생산된 태추단감의 첫 해외 수출이라는 점에서 의미가 깊다. 김해시는 아삭한 식감과 높은 당도로 인기가 많은 태추단감이 현지인들의 입맛을 사로잡으며 수출 효자 품목으로 자리매김할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
태추단감은 일반 단감보다 수확 시기가 빠른 조생종 품종으로, 특히 배처럼 아삭한 식감이 특징이다. 껍질이 얇고 떫은맛이 없어 껍질째 먹을 수 있다는 편리함과 함께 비타민 A, C와 탄닌 성분이 풍부해 피로 회복과 면역력 증진에도 효과적이다.
