시는 1일 신니면 용원리 일원에서 ‘신니면 파크골프장 개장식’을 열고 본격적인 운영에 들어갔다
이날 행사에는 조길형 충주시장을 비롯해 이종배 국회의원, 시의원, 시도의원, 유관단체와 시민 등이 참석해 사업 경과보고, 유공자 시상, 기념사, 기념 시타, 시설물 관람 순으로 진행됐다.
신니면 파크골프장은 약 7,000㎡ 규모의 유휴부지를 활용해 조성됐으며, 총사업비 8억7천만 원을 투입해 9홀 규모의 골프장과 함께 주차장, 휴게실 등 편의시설을 갖췄다.
이번 사업은 2022년 주민 건의에서 시작해 2023년 실시설계용역을 거쳐 2024년 8월 착공, 약 10개월의 공사 끝에 올해 5월 준공됐다.
조길형 충주시장은 기념사에서 “신니면 파크골프장 조성을 계기로 지역주민들의 여가 활동과 체육 활성화에 크게 기여할 것”이라며 “앞으로도 시설 이용 시 불편함이 없도록 최선을 다하겠다”라고 말했다.
한편, 이번 신니면 파크골프장 개장으로 충주시는 7개 구장, 153홀 규모의 파크골프장을 운영하게 됐으며, 시민들의 체육 참여 기회가 한층 확대될 전망이다.
