배광식 북구청장과 간부공무원 등 50여 명은 지난 1일 오후 2시 30분 팔달신시장에서 장보기 행사를 가졌다. 해마다 명절이면 온라인 쇼핑몰, 대규모 유통업체 이용으로 위축된 전통시장에 활력을 불어넣기 위해서다.
이날 배 청장을 비롯한 구청 실·과장 이상 간부공무원과 참여 희망 직원들은 자율적으로 참여해 전통시장 곳곳을 돌며 제수용품과 다양한 먹거리를 샀다. 각 상인들과는 전통시장의 상황 등을 나누고, 시장을 찾는 주민들에게는 온누리상품권 환급행사와 시장 홍보 활동도 함께 펼쳤다.

이와 함께 북구청은 건전한 유통거래 질서 확립을 위한 물가안정 캠페인도 실시했다. 착한가격업소 이용 홍보 등 시장을 찾은 주민들에게 관심과 동참을 이끌어냈다.
북구청은 9월 22일부터 10월 12일까지를 '추석 명절 물가안정 특별대책 기간'으로 정하고 물가대책 종합상황실을 운영하고 있다. 가격표시제 및 원산지 표시 이행 여부, 담합에 의한 가격 인상 등 불공정 거래 행위에 대한 집중 지도·점검도 추진한다.
앞으로도 지역 내수 진작과 서민 체감 경기 개선을 위해 물가안정 거리 캠페인, 착한가격업소 이용의 날 등을 운영하며 지역 물가안정 분위기 조성에 앞장설 계획이다. 저렴한 가격으로 질 높은 서비스를 제공하는 착한가격업소를 지속적으로 확대 발굴해 다양한 인센티브를 지원할 예정이다.
배광식 북구청장은 "추석을 맞이해 물가상승과 경기침체로 어려움을 겪고 있는 전통시장에 활력을 불어넣고 상인들에게 조금이라도 도움이 되고자 장보기 행사를 마련했다"며 "이번 행사를 계기로 더 많은 주민들이 전통시장을 이용하고, 추석 연휴 동안 가족들과 즐거운 명절을 보내시길 바란다"고 말했다.
이어 "경기침체와 기상 여건 악화 등에 따른 추석 성수품 가격 상승으로 구민들의 물가 부담이 커질 것으로 예상된다"며 "구민들이 안심하고 추석 명절을 보낼 수 있도록 가격 동향을 철저히 관리하고, 생활필수품과 성수품의 가격 안정화에 힘써 불공정 거래를 막고, 지역경제 활성화에 최선을 다하겠다"고 덧붙였다.
