낙동강은 검붉은 바다 같았다 집, 짐승이 강물에 둥둥 떠내려가고 몸만 살아 있는 것, 귀 빠진 소쿠리에 가물치 메기 잉어 잡아다 머리에 이고 수 십리 어매 따라 발품 팔았다 ‘고기 사이소’ 어매 한 번 나 한 번, 쉰 목소리로 외치고 다녔다 손가락으로 꾹꾹 누르면
-고기 다 죽었네
-고단해서 자요
고기 굽다 보면 아직도 고단해서 자냐
한 번씩 지나가는 바람처럼 물어 볼 때
죽은 고기보다 어매가 더 고단했던 것을
차마 묻지 못했던 오랜 날들
접시 종이 위에 기름 번진 자국
어매 눈물 흥건히 고인 것 같더니
어매보다 더 나이 많은 나이
내 눈물까지 섞여 어린다
