부천의 대표 수채화 작가 이숙희가 ‘2025 부천미술 올해의 작가’로 선정됐다. 한국예총 부천지회는 지난 4월 10일 공정한 심사를 거쳐 수채화 분야의 이숙희 작가를 올해의 작가로 최종 선정했다고 밝혔다.
이번 선정은 부천지역 미술문화 활성화와 작가들의 창작 의욕을 고취하기 위한 취지로 마련됐다. 이숙희 작가는 오는 10월 22일부터 28일까지 송내어울마당 아리솔갤러리에서 개인전을 열고 주요 작품을 선보인다.

독창적 기법으로 수채화의 새로운 지평 열어
이숙희 작가는 수채화의 전통적 기법을 넘어, 종이의 표면을 나이프로 뜯어내는 독특한 방식을 통해 새로운 조형 언어를 구축해왔다. 그의 작품은 종이의 속살이 드러난 흰 공간을 통해 바람과 공기, 흐름 등 보이지 않는 존재감을 시각적으로 표현하는 것이 특징이다. 이 작가는 “아르쉬지의 흰 공간은 단순한 여백이 아니라 작품의 숨결이자 생명의 통로”라며 “파괴를 통해 새로운 창조가 시작된다”고 밝혔다.

국내외 무대에서 인정받은 예술가
이숙희 작가는 개인전 및 초대전을 포함해 18회의 개인전을 개최했으며, 스페인·이탈리아·중국·말레이시아 등 국내외 단체전 200여 회에 참여했다. 티라나 국제 수채화 비엔날레에서 BEST 개념작가상, 말레이시아 국제수채화비엔날레에서 오션 어워드를 수상하는 등 해외에서도 그 예술성을 인정받았다.
또한 대한민국미술대전, IWS국제함양비엔날레, 한국수채화공모대전 등 주요 미술대전의 심사위원과 운영위원으로 활동하며 후학 양성에도 힘써왔다. 현재 그는 한국수채화협회 회원, 경인미술협회 고문, KTA 평생교육원 교수로 활동 중이며,전통예술전승원 이사, 예술만세 고문, 카네기LEE재단 운영위원 등 다양한 분야에서도 활발히 활동하고 있다.

An Artist Recognized Domestically and Internationally
Lee Sook-hee has held 18 solo exhibitions, including solo and invitational exhibitions, and has participated in over 200 group exhibitions in Korea and abroad, including in Spain, Italy, China, and Malaysia.
