글로벌미래포럼(회장 소재학 교수)이 지난 10월 10일, 서울 서초구 오선채 한정식에서 ‘재외 한인 회장단 및 지도자 초청 오찬세미나’를 개최, 글로벌 한인 네트워크 강화에 나섰다.
추석 연휴를 전후하여 한국을 방문 중인 미국, 호주, 독일, 일본 등 7개국의 한인 지도자 약 50여 명이 참석한 이번 세미나는 “세계 속의 한인 리더십과 글로벌 네트워크의 상생 방안”을 논의하는 뜻 깊은 자리였다. 국내 주요 인사들과 재한 외국인 전문가들까지 함께하며 국제적인 교류의 폭을 넓혔다.

거물급 인사들의 미래 리더십 강조
이날 행사에는 글로벌미래포럼의 조완규 총재(전 교육부 장관, 전 서울대 총장), 오명 총재(국가원로회의 상임의장, 전 부총리)와 회장인 K-미래학자 소재학 교수를 비롯해 가수 장미화, 김태곤 박사, 박준희 아이넷방송 회장, 서동진 한미동맹협의회 이사장, 조롱재 (사)재외동포포럼 이사장 등 각계 인사들이 자리를 빛냈다. 특히 하버드대 박사 마크 피터슨(Mark Peterson), 아시아연구소 안보연구센터장 라크빈더 싱(Lakhvinder Singh) 박사 등 외국인 전문가들의 참석은 눈길을 끌었다.
조완규 총재는 개회사를 통해 “글로벌, AI 시대일수록 기술과 인간의 조화를 이루는 철학이 중요하다”며, “K-미래학이 제시하는 과학적 미래예측 체계는 인류가 인공지능 시대 속에서 방향을 잃지 않도록 돕는 실질적 나침반이 될 수 있다”고 역설했다.
오명 총재 역시 “AI와 첨단기술의 발전 속도는 예상보다 훨씬 빠르다”고 진단하며, “이런 시대일수록 과학기술을 선도하면서도 인간 중심의 균형 잡힌 리더십이 필요하다. 글로벌미래포럼이 미래 인재와 한인 지도자들이 함께 성장하는 플랫폼이 되길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
K-미래학, 글로벌 한인 번영의 '나침반'

회장인 소재학 교수는 이번 세미나를 통해 K-미래학의 통찰을 공유했다. 소재학 교수는 “K-미래학은 자연 질서의 리듬과 에너지 흐름을 과학적으로 해석하는 미래예측학”이라며, “세계 각국의 한인 지도자들이 자신의 ‘때’를 찾아 그 질서에 조화롭게 순응할 때, 개인의 성공은 물론 공동체 전체의 번영이 가능하다”고 강조했다.
이번 세미나는 소재학 교수가 지난 7월부터 9월까지 옥상두 전 호주 시드니 스트라필드 시장 등의 초청으로 호주 주요 도시를 순회하며 진행한 ‘K-미래학 특강’의 폭발적인 반응이 계기가 되어 마련된 것으로 알려졌다. 시드니, 멜번 등 호주 주요 도시에서 고상구 세계한인총연합회장 등 현지 한인 리더들과 간담회 및 특강을 진행하며 글로벌 한인 리더십 간 협력과 미래 전략적 교류의 필요성을 확산시킨 바 있다.
글로벌미래포럼은 앞으로도 매년 1~2회 정례적으로 재외 한인 지도자들을 초청, K-미래학적 관점을 바탕으로 한 글로벌 한인 네트워크를 강화하고 AI 시대에 대응할 수 있는 미래 전략을 모색할 계획이다.
참석자들은 이번 오찬세미나에 대해 “AI와 과학기술의 발전 속에서도 인간의 지혜와 리듬을 잃지 않게 하는 의미 있는 자리였다”고 평가하며, 글로벌 네트워크를 통한 미래 통찰 확산이라는 포럼의 비전에 공감했다.

On October 10th, the Global Future Forum (Chairman Professor So Jae-hak) hosted a "Luncheon Seminar for Overseas Korean Leaders and Leaders" at the Oseonchae Korean Restaurant in Seocho-gu, Seoul, to strengthen the global Korean network.
Approximately 50 Korean leaders from seven countries, including the US, Australia, Germany, and Japan, who were visiting Korea around the Chuseok holiday, attended the seminar, which was a meaningful opportunity to discuss "Korean leadership in the world and ways to foster mutual prosperity within a global network." The seminar broadened the scope of international exchange by bringing together key figures from Korea and international experts residing in Korea.
Leading figures emphasize future leadership
The event was graced by figures from various fields, including Global Future Forum President Cho Wan-kyu (former Minister of Education, former President of Seoul National University), President Oh Myung (Standing Chairman of the Council of State Elders, former Deputy Prime Minister), and K-Futurist Professor So Jae-hak, as well as singer Jang Mi-hwa, Dr. Kim Tae-gon, I-Net Broadcasting Chairman Park Jun-hee, Korea-US Alliance Council Chairman Seo Dong-jin, and Overseas Koreans Forum Chairman Jang Mor-jae. The presence of foreign experts, including Harvard University PhD candidate Mark Peterson and Asia Center for Security Studies Director Dr. Lakhvinder Singh, drew particular attention.
In his opening remarks, President Cho emphasized, "In this global, AI-driven era, a philosophy that harmonizes technology and humanity is crucial." He added, "The scientific future prediction system presented by K-Futurism can serve as a practical compass to help humanity navigate the AI era." President Oh Myung also stated, "The pace of development in AI and cutting-edge technology is much faster than expected." He added, "In these times, balanced leadership that prioritizes people while also leading science and technology is crucial. I hope the Global Future Forum will serve as a platform for future talent and Korean leaders to grow together."
K-Futures: A Compass for Global Korean Prosperity
Professor So Jae-hak, the president, shared insights from K-Futures at this seminar. He stated, "K-Futures is a science of predicting the future that scientifically interprets the rhythms and energy flows of the natural order." He emphasized, "When Korean leaders around the world find their own 'time' and harmoniously adapt to that order, individual success and the prosperity of the entire community are possible."
This seminar was reportedly organized in response to the explosive response to Professor So Jae-hak's "K-Futures Special Lecture," which he toured major Australian cities from July to September at the invitation of former Sydney Mayor Ok Sang-doo and others. He has held meetings and special lectures with local Korean leaders, including President Ko Sang-koo of the World Federation of Korean Associations, in major Australian cities such as Sydney and Melbourne, highlighting the need for cooperation and future strategic exchange among global Korean leaders.
The Global Future Forum plans to regularly invite overseas Korean leaders once or twice a year to strengthen the global Korean network based on a K-futurology perspective and explore future strategies for responding to the AI era.
Attendees praised the luncheon seminar, saying, "It was a meaningful opportunity to ensure that human wisdom and rhythm are not lost amidst the advancements in AI and science and technology," and shared the forum's vision of disseminating future insights through a global network.
