[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원시의 눈부신 발전 뒤에 가려졌던 원주민들의 헌신과 희생을 위로하고 축하하는 '제19회 삼원인 문화한마당'이 성황리에 막을 올렸다.
올해로 19회째를 맞은 이번 축제는 창원시의 중심지이자 뿌리였던 옛 창원군 3개 면(창원면·상남면·웅남면) 원주민들의 모임인 '삼원회'가 주최하여 그 의미를 더했다.
'세 뿌리의 모임'이라는 뜻을 가진 삼원회는 1974년 창원국가산업단지 조성 과정에서 삶의 터전을 내어주고 창원시의 산업발전을 위해 헌신했던 원주민들이 모여 창원의 역사를 길이 잇고자 결성된 단체다.

오늘날 이들의 희생 덕분에 창원시는 눈부신 경제 성장을 이루며 100만 도시로 발전할 수 있었다. 삼원인 문화한마당은 이러한 원주민들의 숭고한 삶을 기리기 위해 2006년 시작되었다.
