충남 서산시청 소속 사격팀과 카누팀이 부산에서 열린 제106회 전국체육대회에서 총 7개의 메달을 획득하며 충남 대표팀의 저력을 입증했다.
서산시청은 22일 “사격팀이 금메달 2개, 은메달 1개, 동메달 3개를, 카누팀이 은메달 1개를 따내며 모두 7개의 메달을 확보했다”고 밝혔다.
사격팀은 10월 17일부터 21일까지 창원국제사격장에서 열린 경기에서 연일 메달 소식을 전했다. 첫날 소승섭 선수가 50m 권총 개인전에서 금메달을 차지하며 포문을 열었고, 같은 날 박성현·강준기·추상훈 선수가 출전한 10m 공기소총 단체전과 추상훈 선수의 개인전에서 각각 동메달이 추가됐다.
이튿날에는 소승섭·최보람·방재현 선수가 10m 공기권총 단체전에서 금메달을 획득하며 팀 분위기를 끌어올렸다. 이어 21일에는 이은서 선수가 50m 소총 3자세 개인전에서 동메달을, 최보람 선수가 센터파이어권총 개인전에서 은메달을 따내며 대회를 성공적으로 마무리했다.
카누팀도 선전했다. 지난 9월 27일 서낙동강 조정·카누경기장에서 열린 C-2 500m 경기에서 최지성·강신홍 조가 2위를 기록하며 은메달을 목에 걸었다.
이완섭 서산시장은 “전국체전 무대에서 뛰어난 성적을 거둔 선수들이 매우 자랑스럽다”며 “앞으로도 서산시가 스포츠 도시로 자리매김할 수 있도록 지속적인 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 격려했다.
제106회 전국체육대회는 지난 10월 17일 개막해 부산 아시아드주경기장 등 82개 경기장에서 치러졌으며, 오는 23일 폐회식을 앞두고 있다.
