브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 시진핑 중국 국가주석이 30일 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령과의 정상회담에서 “미중 관계가 전반적으로 안정세를 유지하고 있다”고 밝혔다.
시 주석은 이날 부산 김해공항 공군기지 내 나래마루에서 열린 미중 정상회담 모두발언에서 “중미 관계는 양국의 공동 지도 아래 전반적으로 안정된 상태를 유지하고 있다. 국정이 다르기 때문에 이견이 있을 수밖에 없고, 세계 최대 두 경제체로서 때로는 마찰이 생기는 것도 자연스러운 일”이라고 말했다.
그는 “파도와 도전에 직면했을 때, 나와 트럼프 대통령은 키잡이로서 방향을 잘 잡고 대국을 잘 이끌어야 한다”며 “중미 관계라는 큰 배가 안정적으로 항해하도록 협력해야 한다”고 비유했다.
시 주석은 이어 “트럼프 대통령과 함께 미중 관계의 견고한 기반을 마련하고 양국 각자의 발전을 위한 좋은 환경을 조성해 나가고자 한다”고 밝혔다.
중국의 경제 상황에 대해서는 “1~3분기 성장률이 5.2%를 기록했고, 상품 무역 수출입이 4% 증가했다”며 “대내외의 어려움 속에서도 거둔 성과로 결코 쉬운 일이 아니었다”고 자평했다. 이어 “중국 경제는 규모·회복력·잠재력이 모두 크며, 위험과 도전에 대응할 자신과 능력이 있다”고 강조했다.
또 “우리는 어느 나라를 도전하거나 대체하려는 생각을 한 적이 없으며, 오로지 자신의 일을 잘 처리하고 세계 각국과 발전 기회를 공유하는 데 집중해 왔다”고 말했다.
경제·무역 분야에서는 “양측 실무팀이 주요 사안에 대해 심도 있는 의견을 교환했고, 문제 해결에 합의했다”며 “이를 신속히 구체화하고 이행해 미중 양국과 세계 경제에 실질적인 안정감을 제공해야 한다”고 밝혔다.
시 주석은 “대화는 대립보다 낫다”며 “모든 채널과 계층 간 소통을 유지하고, 불법 이민·자금세탁·AI·감염병 대응 등 다양한 분야에서 협력 여지가 크다”고 했다. 또한 “중미는 APEC과 G20 정상회의에서도 협력해 세계 경제 성장과 글로벌 거버넌스 개선에 기여해야 한다”고 덧붙였다.
한편 중국 측 발표에 따르면 두 정상은 경제·무역·에너지 등 분야의 협력 강화, 인적 교류 촉진, 정상 간 정례적 소통 유지 등에 합의했다. 트럼프 대통령은 내년 초 중국 방문을 희망한다고 밝혔고 시 주석도 트럼프 대통령을 중국에 초청하겠다고 화답했다.

Chinese President Xi Jinping announced on the 30th during his summit with US President Donald Trump that "US-China relations remain generally stable."
In his opening remarks at the US-China summit held at the Narae Maru Air Base at Gimhae Airport in Busan, President Xi stated, "China-US relations remain generally stable under the joint leadership of both countries. Differences in national policies are inevitable, and as the world's two largest economies, it is natural for friction to arise at times."
He likened the relationship to a "big ship" like the US-China relationship, saying, "When faced with waves and challenges, President Trump and I must act as steersmen, properly guiding the two nations. We must cooperate to ensure the stable sailing of this great ship."
President Xi continued, "I intend to work with President Trump to lay a solid foundation for US-China relations and foster a favorable environment for our respective development."
Regarding China's economic situation, he stated, "Growth in the first three quarters was 5.2%, and merchandise trade imports and exports increased by 4%. This achievement was by no means easy, despite domestic and international difficulties." He continued, "The Chinese economy possesses significant scale, resilience, and potential, and we are confident and capable of responding to risks and challenges."
He also stated, "We have never considered challenging or replacing any country. We have focused solely on performing our duties well and sharing development opportunities with countries around the world."
Regarding economic and trade issues, he stated, "The working-level teams from both sides exchanged in-depth views on key issues and agreed to resolve them. We must swiftly flesh out and implement these agreements to provide real stability to both the US and China and the global economy."
President Xi emphasized, "Dialogue is better than confrontation," and added, "We must maintain communication across all channels and levels, and there is significant room for cooperation in various areas, including illegal immigration, money laundering, AI, and infectious disease response." He also added, "Central America should also cooperate at the APEC and G20 summits to contribute to global economic growth and improved global governance."
Meanwhile, according to a Chinese statement, the two leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, and energy, promote people-to-people exchanges, and maintain regular communication between the two leaders. President Trump expressed his hope to visit China early next year, and President Xi responded by inviting President Trump to China.
