신암2동 새마을지도자협의회(회장 권영오)와 새마을부녀회(회장 정혜자)는 지난 3일 관내 독거노인 가구를 대상으로 ‘사랑의 집 고쳐주기’를 실시했다.
회원 10여 명이 참여해 낡은 도배와 장판을 교체하고 생활폐기물을 정리하며 쾌적한 주거환경을 만들었다.
권영오 회장은 “작은 노력이 이웃의 삶에 도움이 되어 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 꾸준히 봉사활동을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

같은 날 도평동 공립 도동어린이집(원장 김현정)은 행정복지센터를 찾아 이웃돕기 성금 40만 원을 전달했다. 교직원들이 모은 성금을 아이들이 직접 전달해 나눔의 의미를 더했다. 도동어린이집은 8년째 이웃사랑 실천을 이어오고 있다.
김현정 원장은 “아이들이 나눔의 기쁨을 배우는 뜻깊은 시간이었다”고 전했다.

지난달 31일에는 공산지구 생활개선회(회장 이승숙)가 직접 만든 수제 고추장 80개를 공산동행정복지센터에 기탁했다. 고추장은 지역 내 취약계층 가정에 전달될 예정이다.
이승숙 회장은 “이웃에게 따뜻한 마음이 전해지길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 살기 좋은 지역사회를 만들겠다”고 말했다.
대구 동구청 관계자는 “주민들의 자발적인 나눔이 지역을 더욱 따뜻하게 만들고 있다”며 “민·관이 함께하는 복지공동체 조성을 위해 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

On the 31st of last month, the Gongsan District Living Improvement Association (Chairperson Lee Seung-sook) donated 80 containers of homemade gochujang to the Gongsan-dong Administrative Welfare Center. The gochujang will be distributed to underprivileged families in the area.
Chairperson Lee Seung-sook said, "I hope this warmhearted gesture will reach our neighbors," and added, "We will continue to create a community that is a better place to live."
An official from the Daegu Dong-gu Office stated, "The voluntary sharing of residents is making the area warmer. We will actively support the creation of a welfare community where the public and private sectors work together."
