대구시교육청은 지난 3일 대성에너지(주) 본사에서 ‘학생맞춤통합지원을 위한 청소년 학습환경 개선 지원사업’ 전달식을 개최했다.
이날 전달식에는 강은희 대구시교육감과 박문희 대성에너지(주) 대표이사, 교육복지 관계자 등이 참석했다.
해당 사업은 대성에너지(주)가 후원했으며, 취약계층 학생 44명에게 총 2,000만 원 상당의 책상과 의자가 지원된다. 이를 통해 그동안 적절한 학습 가구가 없어 어려움을 겪던 학생들에게 안정적인 학습 공간이 마련될 전망이다.
지원 대상은 ‘동네틈새안전망 사업’과 연계해 선정됐다. 이 사업은 방학 기간 중 돌봄 공백과 결식을 예방하고, 복지 사각지대에 놓인 가정을 발굴하기 위해 추진된다. 지난 여름방학에는 교육복지사와 교사들이 직접 가정을 방문해 학업 환경 개선이 시급한 학생들을 확인했다.
대성에너지(주)는 선정된 학생들에게 맞춤형 책상과 의자를 순차적으로 전달할 계획이다. 각 가정의 환경과 학생별 학습 여건에 맞춰 지원 물품을 제공할 방침이다.
강은희 교육감은 “이번 사업이 학생들의 학업 집중도를 높이는 데 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회와 협력해 더 많은 학생들이 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

Superintendent Kang Eun-hee stated, "We expect this project to be a significant help in improving students' academic concentration. We will continue to collaborate with the local community to actively support more students' healthy growth."
