브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 넷마블은 글로벌 게임 개발사 콩스튜디오와 신작 게임 ‘프로젝트 옥토퍼스’의 글로벌 퍼블리싱 계약을 체결했다고 6일 밝혔다.
조인식은 서울 구로구에 위치한 넷마블 지타워 사옥에서 지난 5일 진행됐으며, 김병규 넷마블 대표와 석광원 콩스튜디오 대표 등 주요 관계자들이 참석했다.
‘프로젝트 옥토퍼스’는 ‘가디언 테일즈’ IP를 활용한 2026년 신작으로, 도트 그래픽 기반의 캐주얼 액션 로그라이크 RPG로 개발 중이다. 장르적 특성을 극대화해 간편한 조작으로 누구나 다양한 전투 빌드를 만들 수 있으며, ‘광산’을 배경으로 다양한 콘텐츠를 선보일 예정이다.
이번 계약으로 넷마블은 ‘프로젝트 옥토퍼스’의 국내·외 서비스 판권을 확보했으며, 축적된 퍼블리싱 노하우를 기반으로 폭넓은 마케팅과 안정적인 서비스 제공에 나선다는 방침이다.
김병규 넷마블 대표는 “콩스튜디오와의 협업을 통해 글로벌 시장에서 경쟁력 있는 새로운 IP를 선보일 수 있게 돼 기대가 크다”며 “넷마블의 퍼블리싱 노하우와 콩스튜디오의 독창적인 개발력이 시너지를 발휘해 글로벌 유저들에게 완성도 높은 재미를 제공할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 콩스튜디오는 모바일 퍼즐 RPG ‘던전링크’, 모바일 어드벤처 RPG ‘가디언 테일즈’ 등을 통해 국내외 유저들에게 널리 알려진 글로벌 게임 개발사다. 2013년에 설립된 콩스튜디오는 미국 LA에 본사를 두고 있으며, 개발을 전담하는 한국 지사와 일본 내 게임 서비스를 전담하는 일본 지사를 운영하고 있다.
