【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 중구청이 도심 속 자연과 전통, 그리고 주민들의 온기를 아우르는 공식 캐릭터 ‘아기백로 근대로’를 11일 구청 홈페이지에서 처음으로 선보였다.
‘아기백로 근대로’는 신천 강변을 찾는 백로에서 영감을 얻은 캐릭터다. 자연의 생동감과 중구 근대골목의 역사·문화, 약령시의 오랜 전통, 동성로의 활기찬 모습까지 한데 담았다. 이야기 여행가라는 콘셉트로 친근함과 따뜻함을 강조했다.
중구청은 올해 10월까지 캐릭터 리뉴얼 제작을 완료했다. 이번에 공개된 ‘아기백로 근대로’는 기본형 1종과 축제형, 감정형, SNS형 등 응용형 27종까지 준비돼 다양한 홍보활동에 활용될 전망이다. 특히 구민에게 보다 가깝게 다가갈 수 있도록 밝고 따뜻한 이미지를 살렸다.
구청은 11월 내 저작권과 상표권 등록 절차를 마무리한 뒤, 각종 홍보물과 축제, 안내자료, 굿즈 등에 캐릭터를 적극 활용할 계획이다. 아울러 주민과 관광객이 일상에서 캐릭터를 쉽게 만날 수 있도록 지속적으로 관리하고 홍보도 강화할 방침이다.
류규하 중구청장은 “아기백로 근대로는 중구만의 매력을 상징하는 캐릭터”라며 “구민들과 함께 성장해, 중구의 따뜻하고 활기 넘치는 도시 이미지를 전국에 알리는 데 큰 역할을 할 것으로 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
