지난 12일, 아양아트센터 야외마당에서는 ‘2025 사랑플러스 김장나눔 행사’가 열렸다. 이 행사는 1999년 IMF 시절에 시작돼 올해로 27회를 맞았으며, 동구를 대표하는 복지 행사로 자리 잡았다.
올해는 새마을협의회와 부녀회 회원, 후원업체 직원 등 500여 명이 참여해 배추 7,920kg으로 김장김치를 담갔다. 완성된 김치 1,100박스는 저소득층과 홀몸어르신 등 취약계층에 전달됐다.

같은 날, 동구청은 대구동구자원봉사센터와 함께 롯데아울렛 대구율하점에서 ‘겨울 김장 담그기 행사’도 열었다. 자원봉사단체협의회 회원과 건강관리협회 어머니사랑봉사단, 아울렛 직원 등 150여 명이 힘을 모아 직접 김치 850박스를 담갔다. 이 김치는 지역아동센터 등 어려운 이웃들에게 전달됐다.
홍창식 자원봉사센터 이사장은 “봉사자들의 정성과 사랑이 어려운 이웃들에게 작은 위로가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
지역 사회에서도 온정의 손길이 이어지고 있다. 국공립 동대구화성파크큰별어린이집은 교육활동을 통해 모은 후원금 100만 원과 300만 원 상당의 물품을 동구청에 전달했다. 이 후원금과 물품은 관내 아동복지시설 2곳에 지원됐다. 김유미 원장은 “아이들이 나눔의 기쁨을 배우는 소중한 시간이었다”고 설명했다.

또한, 안심도서관은 ‘2025년 도서관 운영 유공 문화체육관광부 장관상’ 상금 100만 원을 안심1동 행정복지센터에 기탁했다. 오재섭 동구 도서관사업부장은 “도서관이 지역사회와 함께 성장하며, 나눔을 실천하는 공간이 되겠다”고 밝혔다.

People across Daegu's Dong-gu district are warming the hearts of people this winter with sharing and volunteer work.
On the 12th, the "2025 Love Plus Kimchi Sharing Event" was held at the outdoor courtyard of the Ayang Art Center. This event, which began in 1999 during the IMF crisis, is now in its 27th year and has become a representative welfare event in Dong-gu.
This year, approximately 500 people, including members of the Saemaul Movement Council, women's associations, and employees of sponsoring companies, participated and made kimchi with 7,920 kg of cabbage. On the same day, the Dong-gu Office, in collaboration with the Daegu Dong-gu Volunteer Center, also held a "Winter Kimchi Making Event" at the Lotte Outlet Daegu Yulha Branch. Around 150 people, including members of the National Council of Volunteer Organizations, the Mother's Love Volunteer Group of the Korea Health Management Association, and outlet staff, worked together to make 850 boxes of kimchi. This kimchi was distributed to local children's centers and other needy communities.
Hong Chang-sik, director of the Volunteer Center, said, "I hope the volunteers' sincerity and love will bring some small comfort to those in need."
Gentle helping hands are also reaching out from the local community. The public Dongdaegu Hwaseong Park Keunbyeol Daycare Center donated 1 million won and 3 million won worth of supplies, raised through educational activities, to the Dong-gu Office. These donations and supplies were then distributed to two child welfare facilities in the district. Director Kim Yu-mi explained, "It was a valuable time for the children to learn the joy of sharing."
Furthermore, Ansim Library donated 1 million won from the "2025 Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award for Library Operation" to the Ansim 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center. Oh Jae-seop, director of the Dong-gu Library Business Division, said, “The library will grow together with the local community and become a space that practices sharing.”
