이번 축제는 서울아리랑 탄생 100주년(2026년)을 1년 앞두고 열려 <서울의 아리랑을 잇다>라는 소제목 아래, 서울아리랑의 역사·문화·예술적 가치를 공감하고 이해하는 뜻깊은 행사가 될 예정이다.
이번 행사는 서울시, 서울시의회, 국회, 송파구청 등의 후원으로 진행되며, 공연, 경연, 학술, 체험 등 다채로운 프로그램으로 꾸며진다.
독립 정신이 깃든 서울아리랑, 광복 80주년과 조국의 별 기려
유명옥 이사장은 “이번 축제는 특히 서울아리랑의 역사적 의미를 되새기는 데 초점을 맞췄다”며, “서울아리랑은 1926년 10월 1일 개봉한 독립운동가 나운규 감독의 영화 '아리랑'의 주제가로, 일제강점기 총독부 완공 기념식을 반대하기 위해 만들어졌다”고 밝혔다.

국가무형유산 서도소리 이수자 이자 전북무형유산 호남살풀이 이수자인 유명옥 이사장은 자연치유학 박사이기도 하다. 그는 아리랑과 자연치유 분야를 접목하여 '아리랑 음악치유'라는 새로운 장르를 개발했다. 그는 '몸의 변비는 아래로, 마음의 변비는 입으로'라는 슬로건 아래, 아리랑과 함께 건강하고 행복한 문화 대한민국을 견인하는 선구자 역할을 하고 있다.
