선린대학교, 포항제철중 2학년 대상 진로체험 프로그램 실시…12개 학과 참여

【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교(총장 곽진환)는 14일 오후 1시부터 포항제철중학교 2학년 학생 575명을 대상으로 직업세계 탐색을 위한 진로체험 프로그램을 진행했다.

이번 프로그램은 ‘포항시 교육발전특구 시범지역 지정’에 따른 대학 협력사업의 일환으로 마련됐으며, 오는 12월까지 포항 지역 중·고등학생 약 2,000명을 대상으로 순차적으로 운영된다. 학생들은 선린대학교의 다양한 학과를 직접 찾아가 전공별 체험 활동을 경험하며 자신의 적성과 진로 방향을 모색하는 시간을 가졌다.

이날 체험에는 간호학과, 물리치료과, 방사선과 등 12개 학과가 참여했다. 간호학과는 예비 간호사 실습 체험을, 물리치료과는 물리치료 기초 체험을 각각 제공했다. 

방사선과는 방사선사 직무를 소개하는 실습을 운영했으며, 뷰티디자인과는 퍼스널컬러 진단과 비즈공예를, 사회복지심리상담과는 에고그램(Ego-gram) 테스트를 활용한 적성 탐색을 진행했다. 

반려동물과는 펫푸드 ‘초코가나슈 타르트’ 만들기 체험을, 유아교육과는 비즈공예 활동을, 호텔조리제빵바리스타과는 케이크 만들기 프로그램을 선보여 다양한 분야의 직업군을 학생들이 직접 경험할 수 있도록 했다.

체험에 참여한 한 학생은 “직접 체험하며 직업에 대해 배울 수 있어 신기하고 재미있었다”며 “앞으로 진로를 정하는 데 큰 도움이 될 것 같다. 대학 선배들이 친절하게 알려줘 더욱 즐거운 시간이었다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

곽진환 총장은 “지역 청소년들이 자신의 흥미와 적성을 발견하고 미래를 주도적으로 설계할 수 있도록 진로체험 프로그램을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”며 “지역사회와 함께 성장하는 교육 환경을 만드는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 선린대학교는 매년 지역 학생과 주민을 대상으로 다양한 재능기부 프로그램을 운영하고 있으며, 오는 11월 27일까지 포항 지역 고등학생을 대상으로 학과별 ‘1-day 진로체험캠프’ 신청을 받고 있다. 캠프는 12월 6일 진행될 예정이다.

Sunlin University Holds Career Exploration Program for Second-Year Students at Pohang Jecheol Middle School… 12 Departments Participated

Sunlin University (President Kwak Jin-hwan) held a career exploration program for 575 second-year students at Pohang Jecheol Middle School on the 14th, starting at 1:00 PM. This program, designed to explore the world of work, was organized as part of a university cooperation project under the Pohang City Education Development Special Zone Pilot Area Designation. The program will be implemented sequentially until December for approximately 2,000 middle and high school students in the Pohang area. Students visited various departments at Sunlin University and experienced activities specific to their majors, exploring their aptitudes and career paths.

Twelve departments, including Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Radiology, participated in the program. The Nursing Department provided practical training for prospective nurses, while the Physical Therapy Department provided basic physical therapy experience.

The Department of Radiology conducted a hands-on training program introducing the job of a radiologist. The Department of Beauty Design conducted a personal color diagnosis and beadwork workshop, while the Department of Social Welfare and Psychology Counseling conducted an aptitude exploration using the Ego-gram test.

The Department of Pet Care offered a hands-on experience making a "Chocolate Ganache Tart," the Department of Early Childhood Education offered a beadwork activity, and the Department of Hotel Cooking, Bakery, and Barista offered a cake-making program, allowing students to experience a variety of careers firsthand.

One student who participated in the program commented, "It was fascinating and fun to learn about careers through hands-on experience. I think it will be very helpful in deciding my future career path. The friendly guidance from university alumni made the experience even more enjoyable."

President Kwak Jin-hwan stated, "We will continue to expand our career exploration programs so that local youth can discover their interests and aptitudes and proactively design their futures. We will do our best to create an educational environment that grows together with the local community."

Meanwhile, Sunlin University operates various talent donation programs for local students and residents each year. Applications for its "1-Day Career Experience Camp," a department-specific program for high school students in the Pohang area, are being accepted until November 27th. The camp is scheduled to begin on December 6th.
