【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경상북도교육청이 10일부터 21일까지 2주간 ‘관계기관 합동 어린이 약취·유인 예방 캠페인 주간’을 운영하며 도내 초등학생들의 안전 강화에 나섰다.
이번 캠페인은 최근 발생한 어린이 대상 약취·유인 범죄로 인해 지역사회 전반에 불안감이 높아진 데 따른 조치다. 경북교육청과 22개 시·군 교육지원청은 캠페인 기간 동안 각 지역 초등학교에서 경찰, 녹색어머니회, 학부모회 등 관계 기관과 함께 어린이 안전 수호 활동을 벌이고 있다.
임종식 교육감은 18일 아침 포항 이동초등학교를 방문해 등굣길 어린이들과 교직원, 녹색어머니회, 지역 학부모, 경찰, 지자체 공무원 등과 함께 캠페인을 펼쳤다. 권성연 부교육감도 예천 호명초등학교 정문에서 하굣길 캠페인에 참여했고, 박현숙 정책국장은 고령초등학교에서 아침 등굣길 안전 캠페인을 진행했다.
경북교육청은 지난 9월에도 도내 전역에서 동일한 캠페인을 실시한 바 있으며, 앞으로도 안심알리미 보급 확대와 배움터 지킴이 활동 내실화, 예방 교육 강화 등 다양한 방안을 통해 어린이 약취·유인 예방 체계를 꾸준히 보강할 방침이다.
임종식 교육감은 “최근 어린이 안전을 위협하는 약취·유인 범죄가 잇따라 발생하고 있어 적극적인 예방과 근절 노력이 어느 때보다 중요하다”며 “앞으로도 관계 기관과 긴밀히 협력해 학생들이 안전하게 학업에 전념할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
