【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 수성구가 ‘진밭골 목재커뮤니티센터’ 설계공모 당선작을 발표했다.
수성구(구청장 김대권)는 18일, 2026 수성국제비엔날레 공모사업의 하나로 추진되는 ‘진밭골 목재친화도시 목재커뮤니티센터 건립공사’ 설계공모에서 일본 Kengo Kuma and Associates와 국내 김이홍 아키텍츠가 함께 참여한 작품이 최종 당선작으로 선정됐다고 밝혔다.
이번 공모에는 국내외 총 4개 팀이 참여했다. 심사는 건축 분야 교수와 관련 전문가들로 구성된 심사위원회에서 진행됐으며, 최종적으로 두 팀의 협업 작품이 선정됐다.
‘진밭골 목재친화도시’ 조성사업은 올해 산림청 공모사업에 선정된 바 있다. 사업비는 총 50억 원으로, 국비 25억 원, 시비 12억 5천만 원, 구비 12억 5천만 원이 투입된다. 사업 대상지는 수성구 범물동 1117번지 일원으로, 해당 부지에 목재커뮤니티센터와 '꿈꾸는 숲'이 들어설 예정이다.
목재커뮤니티센터는 지하 1층, 지상 2층, 연면적 800㎡ 규모로, 수성구 청소년수련원 인근 부지에 자리잡게 된다. 이곳에서는 청소년과 지역 주민을 위한 목재 체험 프로그램이 운영되며, 교육·문화 공간으로도 활용될 예정이다.
수성구청은 올해 12월부터 내년 6월까지 기본 및 실시설계에 들어간다. 완공 목표 시점은 2027년 하반기다.
김대권 수성구청장은 “진밭골 목재커뮤니티센터가 목재를 활용한 교육과 소통의 공간으로 뿌리 내리길 바란다”며, “어린이, 청소년, 취약계층 모두가 함께 어우러지는 나눔과 참여의 장이 되길 기대한다”고 말했다.

Suseong District (Mayor Kim Dae-kwon) announced on the 18th that the design competition for the "Jinbatgol Wood-Friendly City Wood Community Center Construction Project," a project sponsored by the 2026 Suseong International Biennale, has been selected as the final winner. The project site is 1117 Beommul-dong, Suseong-gu, where a wood community center and a "Dreaming Forest" will be built.
The wood community center, with one basement level and two above-ground levels, will have a total floor area of 800 square meters and will be located near the Suseong-gu Youth Training Center. It will host wood experience programs for youth and local residents and will also serve as an educational and cultural space.
Suseong-gu Office will begin basic and detailed design from December of this year to June of next year. The target completion date is the second half of 2027.
Suseong-gu Mayor Kim Dae-kwon stated, "I hope the Jinbatgol Wood Community Center will take root as a space for education and communication utilizing wood. I hope it will become a place of sharing and participation where children, youth, and vulnerable groups can all come together."
