무장애 키오스크는 음성 안내, 점자 패드, 큰 글씨와 큼직한 조작 버튼, 그리고 낮은 작업 높이 등 장애인과 고령자, 디지털 취약계층이 쉽게 사용할 수 있도록 만들어진 단말기다.
최근 무인결제기의 확산에도 불구하고, 장애인 접근성이 뛰어난 키오스크는 여전히 부족한 상황이다.
중구청은 우선 관내 장애인 근로사업장 3곳에 무장애 키오스크를 도입해 디지털 접근성뿐 아니라 근로환경 개선도 함께 도모할 방침이다.
또한 소규모 공중이용시설을 대상으로 하는 조립식 경사로 설치 지원 사업도 병행된다. 카페, 편의점, 식당 등 장애인들의 이용이 잦은 시설 중심으로 설치가 진행되며, 설치가 완료된 곳은 ‘장애인 휠체어 이용 가능 가게 현황’을 중구청 누리집에 공개해 접근성을 높일 예정이다.
류규하 중구청장은 “동성로 관광특구 지정 1주년을 맞아 장애친화 환경 조성에 더욱 힘쓰겠다”며 “누구나 편리하게 이용할 수 있는 무장애 관광도시 기반을 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.
