경북교육청은 20일, 풍산고등학교(교장 이준설)가 국제 바칼로레아 고등학교 과정인 디플로마 프로그램(DP) 후보학교로 선정됐다고 발표했다. 경북 지역 고등학교 중 IB 후보학교가 등장한 것은 이번이 처음이다.

학교 측은 2024학년도 IB 관심학교 지정을 계기로 본격적인 IB 도입 준비에 나섰다. 교사 전문성 강화를 위해 한동대, 인하대 IB 교육자 과정 이수, 교과·직무 맞춤형 워크숍, IB 전문가 초청 연수 등을 실시하며 수업과 평가 체제를 체계적으로 정비했다. 이 같은 준비가 이번 후보학교 공식 승인으로 이어졌다.
