[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 중소벤처기업부 주최로 ‘지역 주도형 AI 대전환 사업’ 정부 공모에 선정된 대구, 울산, 전남, 제주 4개 지자체 등과 ‘지역 인공지능(AI) 대전환 비전 선포식’을 지난 19일 개최했다.
이날 선포식은 중소벤처기업부가 제조기업의 인공지능 전환(AX)을 선도하고 있는 경남에서 지역 인공지능(AI) 대전환 비전을 선포했다는 데 의의가 크다.
중소벤처기업부 주관 ‘지역 주도형 AI 대전환’은 국비 등 234억을 투입해 지자체 거점에 GPU와 테스트베드 장비 등 인프라를 구축해 지자체 주도로 중소기업의 인공지능 전환과 맞춤형 인재양성을 하는 사업이다.
경남도는 경남창원산학융합원(창원시 팔용동)에 엔비디아 GPU와 테스트베드 장비를 갖춘 제조AI 데이터센터를 구축한다.
24시간 개방된 데이터센터를 기반으로 중소기업이 인공지능(AI) 기술을 적용할 수 있도록 자문단 컨설팅부터 데이터 분석, 솔루션 개발, 실증 등을 원스톱으로 지원할 계획이다.
도가 추진하는 제조AI데이터센터를 AX실증산단 구축사업(222억원, ‘25.~’28.), AI팩토리사업(256억원, ‘25.~’28.), 제조업 AI융합기반 조성사업(450억원, ‘24.~’26.) 등 국비 사업과 연계하여 활용할 계획이다.
공모를 통해 도내 중소기업 30곳을 선정, 맞춤형 AI솔루션 개발과 실증도 지원한다. 이 사업에 참여해 AI솔루션이 도입되면 매출액 12% 이상 증가, 제조원가 5% 이상 절감, 납기 준수율 95% 이상의 효과를 얻을 것으로 기대된다.
또한, 경상대·창원대·경남대·인제대와 협업해 지역 기업 맞춤형 인공지능(AI) 인재 300명 이상을 양성할 예정이다.
한편, 선포식에는 5개 시도 부단체장*을 비롯해, 한성숙 중소벤처기업부장관, 허성무 국회의원, 강석진 중소벤처기업진흥공단 이사장, 기업 대표 등 200여 명이 참석했다.
경남도가 대표로 ‘지역주도 AI 대전환 사업추진계획’을 발표했으며, 선포식 이후에는 인공지능(AI) 공급·수요기업 간담회, 스마트제조 3.0 콘퍼런스 등 부대행사도 진행됐다.
김명주 경제부지사는 “경남은 풍부한 제조데이터와 전(全) 산업분야가 수직계열화돼 있고, 제조기업의 인공지능 전환 수요가 증가하고 있는 제조 인공지능(AI)의 최적지”라며 “이번 사업을 통해 경남이 AI 대전환 사업을 선도해 나가겠다.”고 전했다.

Thirty SMEs in the province will be selected through a public contest, and support will be provided for the development and demonstration of customized AI solutions. Companies participating in this project and implementing AI solutions are expected to achieve a sales increase of more than 12%, a manufacturing cost reduction of more than 5%, and a delivery compliance rate of over 95%.
Furthermore, in collaboration with Gyeongsang National University, Changwon National University, Gyeongnam National University, and Inje University, the program plans to cultivate over 300 AI talent tailored to local businesses.
