이재명 대통령이 22일(현지시간) 남아프리카공화국 G20(주요20개국) 정상회의 공식 일정을 시작했다.
이 대통령은 이날 오전 10시께 '2025 G20 정상회의'가 열린 남아공 요하네스버그 엑스포 센터에 도착한 가운데 시릴 라마포사 남아공 대통령이 맞이했다.
이번 G20은 아프리카에서 개최되는 첫 회의로 이날부터 이틀간 '연대와 평등, 지속가능성' 주제로 열린다. 다만 이번에 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령·시진핑 중국 국가주석·불라디미르 푸틴 러시아 대통령이 불참한 가운데 지난 1999년 G20 창설 이래 미·중·러 정상 모두 빠진 건 최초다.

또 이날 오후 2세션에선 '회복력 있는 세계' 주제로 국제 사회 기후 위기 대응 노력 강화·재난 위험 대응 복원력 중심 재편·기후 변화 대응에 필요한 인프라 시스템 관련 투자·식량 지원을 위한 국제 사회 연대·협력 필요성 등을 제시한다. G20 회의 후엔 '믹타' 소속국 정상들과의 회동 및 프랑스·독일과 첫 양자회담이 예정돼 있다.
