이번 점등식은 연말 분위기 조성과 도심 경관 개선을 위해 추진한 ‘2025년 성탄경관조명사업’의 일환으로, 영동군 기독교연합회(대표 허광범)가 주관해 진행됐다. 행사에는 군민들이 함께 참여해 성탄트리 점등 순간을 함께하며 희망과 따뜻함을 나누는 시간을 가졌다.
행사 당일에는 점등식과 함께 기독교연합회의 이웃돕기 기탁식도 진행됐다.
기독교연합회는 어려운 이웃을 위해 라면 20개입 300박스(약 500만 원 상당)를 영동군에 기탁하며 지역사회 나눔에 동참했다. 기탁된 물품은 연말을 맞아 관내 취약계층과 복지 사각지대 가구에 전달될 예정이다.
군 관계자는 “성탄트리 점등식이 군민 모두가 함께 따뜻한 연말을 맞이하는 시간이 되었다”며 “기독교연합회의 따뜻한 나눔도 큰 힘이 되었다. 군민들과 함께하는 연말 분위기 조성에 더욱 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
설치된 성탄트리와 주요 경관조명은 12월까지 삼일공원 일원을 중심으로 점등돼 군민과 방문객들에게 볼거리를 제공할 것이다.
