【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군(군수 손병복)은 지난 21일 군청 중회의실에서 ‘울진군 수소도시 조성사업 마스터플랜 수립 용역’ 중간보고회를 열고 사업 추진 현황과 중간 성과를 공유했다고 24일 밝혔다.

이날 보고회에는 손병복 군수를 비롯해 수소국가산업추진단, 환동해산업연구원, 경상북도 관계자, 그리고 용역 수행사인 넥서스도시랩 컨소시엄(㈜넥서스도시랩·㈜현대건설·㈜한국종합기술·(재)포항테크노파크) 등 약 20여 명이 참석했다.
넥서스도시랩 컨소시엄은 지난 6월 용역 착수 이후 도출된 연구 성과를 바탕으로 원자력수소 국가산단과 연계성을 극대화한 울진형 수소도시 모델을 제시했다. 특히 수소 생산·이송·활용 등 하드웨어 구축 계획과 주민 친화형 소프트웨어 전략을 결합해 실현 가능성과 확장 가능성을 모두 갖춘 모델이라는 평가를 받았다.
울진군 수소도시 조성사업은 2028년까지 국비 200억 원을 포함한 총 400억 원 규모로 추진되며, 마스터플랜에는 △수소생산시설 구축 △배관망 인프라 △수소버스 보급 △안전관리센터 및 주민복지시설 조성 등이 단계적으로 반영된다. 군은 이를 통해 군민 생활 수준 향상과 산업 경쟁력을 동시에 확보하는 안전하고 지속 가능한 수소도시 구현을 목표로 하고 있다.
군은 이날 논의된 전문가 의견을 적극적으로 반영해 오는 12월까지 마스터플랜을 최종 확정하고, 본격적인 사업 추진에 속도를 낼 계획이다.
손병복 울진군수는 “울진군은 원자력 청정수소를 기반으로 한 대한민국 대표 수소도시 모델을 완성해 군민이 체감할 수 있는 안전하고 편리한 생활환경을 구축하겠다”며 “원자력수소 국가산단과의 연계를 통해 양질의 일자리 창출과 지역경제 활성화를 반드시 이끌어내겠다”고 강조했다.

In particular, it was evaluated as a model with both feasibility and scalability, combining hardware construction plans for hydrogen production, transportation, and utilization with a resident-friendly software strategy.
The Uljin County Hydrogen City Development Project will be implemented with a total budget of KRW 40 billion, including KRW 20 billion in national funding, through 2028. The master plan will gradually incorporate the construction of hydrogen production facilities, pipeline infrastructure, hydrogen bus distribution, and the establishment of a safety management center and resident welfare facilities. Through this, the county aims to create a safe and sustainable hydrogen city that simultaneously improves the quality of life for its residents and secures industrial competitiveness.
The county plans to actively incorporate the expert opinions discussed during the discussion and finalize the master plan by December, accelerating the full-scale implementation of the project.
