세종특별자치시가 다자녀가정의 교육비 부담을 덜기 위해 추진 중인 ‘입학지원금’ 사업의 올해 지급을 모두 마무리했다.
세종시는 26일 “올해 초등학교에 입학한 셋째 이상 자녀를 둔 401가구에 입학지원금 지급을 완료했다”고 밝혔다. 지원금은 자녀 1인당 20만 원으로, 다자녀 가정의 초기 교육비 부담을 줄이고 저출산 문제에 대응하기 위한 취지로 마련됐다.
지난해 제도 시행 첫해에는 391가구가 지원을 받았으며, 올해는 신청 가구가 소폭 증가했다. 특히 올해 지급 대상 401명 가운데 399명이 기간 내 신청을 완료해 제도가 현장에 안정적으로 정착하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
세종시는 미신청 가구를 위해 내달 15일까지 추가 문의 및 접수를 진행한다.
세종시 관계자는 “다자녀 입학지원금은 세종시가 추진하는 가족친화 정책의 핵심 사업 중 하나로, 다자녀 가정이 체감할 수 있는 실질적 지원책을 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 내년도 다자녀가정 입학지원금은 내년 2월 말경 공고될 예정이다.
