이재명 대통령이 28일 취임 후 처음 국가정보원을 방문해 업무 보고를 받고 장·차관급 인사도 단행했다고 대통령실이 전했다.
강유정 대변인은 이날 오후 용산 대통령실 브리핑에서 이같은 내용의 이 대통령 국정원 방문 및 장·차관급 인선 사안을 발표했다.
그러면서 "이 대통령은 국정원이 바로 서면 많은 일을 해낼 수 있는 충분한 역량을 가진 중요 기관이라며 내란에 휘말리지 않고 특별감사를 통해 지난 과오를 시정한 점을 짚어 의미를 부여했다"고 전했다.
또 "(이 대통령은) 국정원이 국가 경영에 정말 중요한 조직이나 역량이 큰 만큼 악용되는 경우가 있어 서글프다"며 "국정원이 바로 서고 본연 역할을 다할 때 국가가 얼마나 더 나아지는지 보여주고, 새 각오·큰 사명감을 가져달라 당부했다"고 전했다.
이어 "(이 대통령은) 또 국가 폭력 범죄 공소시효가 곧 입법을 통해 영구 배제될 것인 만큼 본연 임무에 더 엄중해져야 한다"며 캄보디어 대학생 살인 사건 주범 체포·스캠 범죄 해결에 상당 역할을 한 국정원 노고를 치하하며 직원들을 격려했다고 전했다.
더불어 "(이 대통령은) 국내 마약 조직 단속에 역량을 최대한 투입해 대한민국은 건들면 손해란 인식을 가질 수 있게 철저히 단독해달라 주문했다"고 전했다
강 대변인은 "이 대통령은 문화예술인 블랙리스트 피해자·민주노총 간첩단 무죄 대상자에 사과하는 등 과거 잘못을 시정하고 있다"며 "오로지 국민만 바라보며 정부기관 본연 임무에 충실해달라며 재차 당부했다"고 전했다.
이 대통령은 이날 방송미디어통신위원장 후보자에 김종철 연세대 법학전문대학원 교수를 지명 하고, 방송미디어통신위원에 류신환 법무법인 지향 변호사를 임명했다. 또 국토교통부 제1차관에 김이탁 경인여대 항공서비스학과 겸임교수를 임명했다.
강 대변인은 김 방통위원장 후보자에 대해 "헌법에서 보장하는 표현의 자유·한계에 대해 이해 깊은 헌법학자이자 언론법 전문가"라고 소개했다.
