[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 국립창원대학교 다문화진흥센터가 부산외국어대학교 이주다문화연구소와 손잡고 지역 혁신과 다문화 연구·교육 분야의 시너지를 극대화하기 위한 교류 협력 협약(MOU)을 2일 체결했다.
이번 협약은 대학의 역할을 지역 혁신 중심으로 재편하는 RISE(지역혁신중심 대학지원체계) 시대를 맞아, 다문화 관련 연구 역량을 결합해 지역사회 문제해결에 적극적으로 추진할 계획이다.
이번 MOU의 핵심은 지역 발전과 직결된 대형 국책사업에 공동으로 대응하는데 있다. 양 기관은 향후 유기적인 협력 체계를 구축하고 실질적인 성과를 도출할 계획이다.
그러기 위해서는 지역 정주 환경 개선 등 지역발전과 연계된 국책사업의 기획 및 실행에 협력하여 지역 기여도를 높인다. 또 양 기관이 보유한 다문화 분야의 전문 인력과 노하우를 공유하고, 공동 연구 및 프로그램 운영을 통해 연구 역량을 강화한다.
국립창원대 다문화진흥센터 배경진 센터장은 “이번 협약과 학술대회가 지역과 학계를 잇는 실질적 기반이 되길 바라며, 다문화 정책과 교육 혁신을 위한 공동 노력을 지속하겠다”고 말했다.
