【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 남구가 보건복지부가 주관한 ‘2025년 음주폐해예방사업’ 평가에서 최우수기관으로 선정돼 보건복지부장관상을 받았다.
남구는 금주구역 확대와 지역사회 협력체계 구축 등 실효적인 사업 추진이 높은 평가를 받은 것으로 나타났다.
남구보건소는 올해 금주구역 지정을 위한 조례를 개정하고, 주민 민원이 잦았던 서부정류장을 금주구역으로 지정했다.
또 남구청은 남부경찰서와 대명11동, 달서구중독관리통합지원센터 등과 협력해 민원이 집중된 지역을 직접 조사하고, 환경정화 대응전략 회의를 운영하며 관리 체계를 한층 강화했다.
남구는 별도 예산을 들여 금주구역에 계도 인력을 배치하고, 금주구역 지정 이전부터 민·관·경 합동 캠페인을 실시하는 등 선제적인 대응에도 힘을 쏟았다. 이런 노력은 취약지역을 중심으로 음주로 인한 폐해를 실질적으로 줄이는 데에 기여했다는 평가다.
조재구 남구청장은 “이번 수상은 지역 기관과의 긴밀한 협력이 있었기에 가능했다”면서 “앞으로도 남구가 더 안전하고 건강한 도시가 될 수 있도록 적극 대응하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Nam-gu District Mayor Cho Jae-gu said, “This award was possible thanks to close cooperation with local organizations,” and added, “We will continue to actively respond so that Nam-gu can become a safer and healthier city.”
