브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 대통령실이 서울 용산 집무실을 청와대로 다시 이전하는 작업에 본격 착수했다. 2022년 5월 윤석열 정부 출범과 함께 시작된 ‘용산 시대’는 약 3년 7개월 만에 막을 내리게 됐다. 대통령실은 오는 성탄절 전후로 주요 업무시설 이전을 마무리한다는 계획이다.
8일 대통령실 수석실과 비서관실 직원들은 사무공간의 이삿짐을 정리하며 분주하게 움직였다. 대통령실은 지난달 청와대 내부 환경 정비와 정보통신 공사를 끝냈고, 이달 3일부터는 직원 식당 등 지원시설 이전을 시작했다. 청와대 매점도 이사를 앞두고 지난주 운영을 중단한 상태다.
취재진이 사용하는 브리핑룸과 기자실도 이전 준비가 한창이다. 브리핑룸은 오는 20~23일 사이 청와대 춘추관으로 옮겨갈 예정이다. 대통령실은 “청와대 이전 후 온라인 생중계 기능 등을 더욱 강화할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
한편 대통령의 거주 공간인 한남동 관저는 보안 및 경호 문제로 인해 내년 초 청와대로 이전할 것으로 전망된다.
