【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항상공회의소(회장 나주영) 경북지식재산센터는 해외수출(예정)기업에 대하여 최대 3년간 지식재산(IP) 종합지원을 통해 글로벌 IP강소기업으로 성장시키는 것을 목표로 하는 ‘글로벌IP스타기업육성’ 사업을 성공적으로 마무리했다.

이 지원사업을 통해 수혜기업은 경북지식재산센터 소속 컨설턴트 및 외부 전문협력기관(특허사무소, 브랜드&디자인개발업체)으로부터 수출기업에 기본이 되는 해외권리화를 위한 해외출원․중간대응(OA)․등록 지원 이외에 해외맞춤 특허․디자인전략, 디자인․브랜드개발, 특허기술홍보영상제작 등 특허, 디자인, 브랜드에 대한 지식재산의 종합적 컨설팅 지원을 받게 된다.
경북지식재산센터는 올해 “특허․상표․디자인의 해외권리화지원” 122건, “해외진출특허전략” 16건, “특허기술홍보영상제작” 7건, 비영어권브랜드개발 등을 포함한 “브랜드개발” 14건, 디자인목업 등을 포함한 “디자인개발” 23건 등 총 182건을 수행 완료했다. 이는 실제 지원건수가 당초 목표건수(총 168건)를 초과한 것으로, 자체 사업비 절감을 통해 기업의 수요가 높은 지원과제에 더 많은 지원이 이루어질 수 있도록 노력한 결과이다.
이번 지원기업 중 경주시에 소재하는 ㈜칼만이 지난 12월 3일, 서울 코엑스에서 열린 「2025년 대한민국발명특허대전」에서 배관 검사용 로봇 기술로 과학기술정보통신부 장관상을 수상했다. 이 기업은 위험하고 반복적인 작업을 대신 수행하는 로봇 솔루션을 제공하고 있으며, 이번에 수상한 PYPER 로봇은 복잡한 산업 배관 내부를 고정밀로 촬영하고 점검하기 위해 설계된 차세대 배관 검사용 로봇으로 사람의 진입이 어려운 환경에서 원격 점검이 가능하게 한다는 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.
경북지식재산센터는 해당 기업을 2024년도에 신규 수혜기업으로 선정하여 PYPER 로봇의 가변 이동기구에 대한 특허기술분석 등을 지원하였고, 올해에도 PYPER 로봇 기술의 해외출원 및 신규 개발제품으로 DEXTER 로봇(사족보행 로봇)의 특허전략수립 등을 지원하였다.

Gyeongbuk Intellectual Property Center Successfully Concludes "Global IP Star Company Development" Project
The Pohang Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Na Ju-young) and Gyeongbuk Intellectual Property Center have successfully completed the "Global IP Star Company Development" project, which aims to foster global IP powerhouses by providing comprehensive intellectual property (IP) support for up to three years to companies planning to export overseas.
Through this support program, beneficiaries will receive comprehensive consulting support for patents, designs, and brands from consultants at the Gyeongbuk Intellectual Property Center and external professional partners (patent offices, brand & design development companies). In addition to support for overseas patent registration, which is essential for exporting companies, these companies will also receive comprehensive consulting support for intellectual property, including customized overseas patent and design strategies, design and brand development, and the production of promotional videos for patented technologies.
This year, the Gyeongbuk Intellectual Property Center completed a total of 182 projects, including 122 cases of "Overseas Patent, Trademark, and Design Protection Support," 16 cases of "Overseas Patent Strategy," 7 cases of "Patent Technology Promotional Video Production," 14 cases of "Brand Development," including non-English brand development, and 23 cases of "Design Development," including design mockups. This represents an actual number of projects exceeding the initial target of 168, a result of efforts to reduce internal operating costs and provide more support to projects with high demand.
Among the companies receiving support, Kalman Co., Ltd., located in Gyeongju, received the Minister of Science and ICT Award for its pipe inspection robot technology at the "2025 Korea Invention Patent Exhibition" held at COEX in Seoul on December 3. This company provides robotic solutions that perform dangerous and repetitive tasks. The PYPER robot, which won the award this time, is a next-generation pipe inspection robot designed to precisely photograph and inspect the interior of complex industrial pipes. Its ability to perform remote inspections in environments difficult for humans to access has been highly praised.
The Gyeongbuk Intellectual Property Center selected the company as a new beneficiary in 2024 and provided support, including patent technology analysis for the PYPER robot's variable locomotion mechanism. This year, the center also provided support for overseas patent applications for PYPER robot technology and the development of a patent strategy for the DEXTER robot (quadrupedal robot), a newly developed product.
