【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항해양경찰서(서장 이근안)는 영일만항 전용부두 이전을 위한 핵심 인력·시설·장비 확충 예산이 2026년도 정부 예산에 반영됨에 따라, 이전 준비가 본격 추진된다고 9일 밝혔다.
포항해경은 지난 5월 ‘영일만항 전용부두 이전 기본계획’을 수립해 중·장기 운영 방향을 마련했으며, 해양경찰청 내부 검토와 기획재정부 협의를 거쳐 관련 예산이 9월 정부안에 포함됐다. 이후 국회 심의를 통과하며 12월 2일 최종 확정됐다. 특히 신규사업으로 총 111억 원이 확보되면서 전용부두 이전을 위한 기본 기반시설 구축이 본격화될 수 있게 됐다.
확보된 예산에는 ▲함정승조원시설 신축 108.4억 원 ▲전기안전용역 및 인력 채용 0.5억 원 ▲부두 준공 대비 울타리·CCTV·차단기 등 방호·감시시설 구축 1.8억 원 ▲전기차 충전시설 2기 설치 0.3억 원 ▲쓰레기 집하장 및 주차라인 정비 0.15억 원 ▲옥외저장소·캐노피 설치 0.25억 원 등이 포함됐다. 이는 전용부두 이전 시 필요한 기본 운영공간 확보와 안전·보안 체계 구축을 위한 핵심 사업이다.
포항해경은 2026년 이전 일정에 맞춰 각 사업의 세부 추진계획을 조율 중이며, 함정 운용 효율성 제고와 안전관리 강화에 중점을 두고 단계적으로 시설 구축을 진행할 방침이다.
이근안 포항해양경찰서장은 “영일만항 전용부두 이전은 포항해양경찰의 함정 운용 체계와 해양치안 역량을 한 단계 도약시키는 중요한 사업”이라며 “확보된 예산을 기반으로 기반시설 구축을 차질 없이 추진해 더욱 안전하고 신속한 해양치안 서비스를 제공하겠다”고 말했다.

The Pohang Coast Guard is currently coordinating detailed implementation plans for each project in line with the 2026 relocation schedule. The plan is to proceed with facility construction in phases, focusing on improving ship operational efficiency and strengthening safety management.
Pohang Coast Guard Chief Lee Geun-an said, “The relocation of the dedicated pier at Yeongil Bay Port is an important project that will elevate the Pohang Coast Guard’s vessel operation system and maritime security capabilities to the next level,” and added, “Based on the secured budget, we will proceed with the construction of the infrastructure without a hitch to provide safer and faster maritime security services.”
