브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성전자가 갤럭시 스마트폰·갤럭시 워치 이용자의 대중교통 편의를 강화하기 위해 삼성 월렛 교통카드 서비스를 대폭 확장했다.
삼성전자는 모바일 지갑 서비스 최초로 서울시의 통합 정기권 "기후동행카드"를 삼성 월렛에 탑재했다. 이용자는 갤럭시 스마트폰에서 기후동행카드를 발급받아 대중교통을 무제한으로 이용할 수 있으며, 잔액·이용내역 확인부터 이용권 갱신까지 모든 기능을 월렛 안에서 처리할 수 있다. 실물 카드 소지 없이 정기권 혜택을 그대로 누릴 수 있는 점이 장점이다.
삼성 월렛의 티머니 교통카드 지원도 확대됐다. 기존 USIM 방식에서 eSIM 개통 기기까지 지원을 넓혀 사용자가 원하는 방식으로 교통카드를 선택할 수 있도록 했다.
갤럭시 워치 전용 "삼성 월렛 교통카드" 서비스도 새로 도입됐다. 워치에 앱을 설치하고 이즐 교통카드를 등록하면 스마트폰 없이 워치만으로 교통카드 이용이 가능하다. 추후 지원 카드 종류도 확대될 예정이다.
현재 삼성 월렛은 티머니·이즐 교통카드의 선불·후불 결제 방식은 물론 기후동행카드, K-패스 등 공공 교통카드까지 폭넓게 지원한다. 특히 K-패스는 월 15회 이상 대중교통 이용 시 일부 금액을 적립·환급해주는 제도다.
채원철 삼성전자 디지털월렛팀 부사장은 "삼성 월렛은 고객이 생활 패턴에 맞는 교통카드를 자유롭게 선택할 수 있도록 다양한 서비스를 연동하는 데 중점을 두고 있다"며 "기후동행카드 최초 지원을 비롯해 티머니·이즐 기반 서비스를 지속 확대해 더 편리한 대중교통 이용 환경을 만들겠다"고 말했다.

Samsung Wallet Adds Climate Companion Card, Expanding Services
