산업용 로봇 기업 티엑스알로보틱스가 인공지능(AI) 기술 기업 투모로 로보틱스와 손잡고 차세대 로봇 기술 확보에 나섰다. 목표는 공장에서 실제로 쓰이는 ‘더 똑똑한 로봇’이다.
티엑스알로보틱스는 12일 투모로 로보틱스와 전략적 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 협약식은 하루 전인 11일, 서울 강서구에 있는 티엑스알로보틱스 로봇AI연구소에서 열렸다.
이번 협력의 핵심은 티엑스알로보틱스가 개발 중인 ‘랜덤 피스피킹 로봇’의 성능을 끌어올리는 데 있다. 랜덤 피스피킹 로봇은 형태가 제각각인 부품이나 물체를 인식하고 집어 올리는 산업용 로봇이다. 단순 반복 작업이 아닌, 예측하기 어려운 환경에서 작동해야 하기 때문에 고도의 지능이 요구된다.
양사는 여기에 멀티모달 AI와 강화학습 기반의 ‘피지컬 AI’를 적용한다. 시각 정보뿐 아니라 다양한 센서 데이터를 함께 인식하고, 스스로 학습하며 동작을 개선하는 기술이다. 이를 통해 기존 산업용 로봇보다 사람의 움직임에 가까운 ‘세미 휴머노이드’ 수준의 기술을 확보하겠다는 구상이다.
협력 방식도 구체적이다. 티엑스알로보틱스는 로봇 장비와 테스트 환경, 실제 현장 데이터와 실증(PoC)을 맡는다. 투모로 로보틱스는 AI 비전 기술과 로봇 제어, 로봇 파운데이션 모델(RFM) 기반 알고리즘 개발을 담당한다. 양사는 공동 연구와 데이터 공유를 통해 기술 완성도를 높이고, 새로운 사업 모델도 함께 발굴할 계획이다.
두 회사는 실무 협의체를 꾸려 협업을 정례화하고, 산업용·협동 로봇 시장에서 경쟁력을 키워나간다는 방침이다. 연구 단계에 그치지 않고, 실제 현장에 바로 적용할 수 있는 솔루션을 만드는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
엄인섭 티엑스알로보틱스 대표는 “이번 협약은 기술 협력을 넘어 상용화 속도를 높이는 출발점”이라며 “다양한 산업 현장에 바로 쓸 수 있는 로봇 솔루션을 빠르게 선보이겠다”고 말했다.
한편 티엑스알로보틱스는 최근 산업통상자원부가 주관하는 ‘K-휴머노이드 연합’ 신규 참여 기업으로도 선정됐다. 자사의 자율주행 로봇 기술을 국가 차원의 로봇 AI 공용 모델과 결합해, 차세대 휴머노이드 로봇 플랫폼 개발에 참여할 계획이다.
TXR Robotics Teams Up with Tomorrow Robotics to Advance Physical AI-Based Semi-Humanoid Technology
TXR Robotics, a robotics and logistics automation company under the Eugene Group, has partnered with AI software developer Tomorrow Robotics to accelerate innovation in industrial and collaborative robotics.
The two companies announced on December 12 that they signed a strategic memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing next-generation robot intelligence. The agreement was signed on December 11 at TXR Robotics’ Robot AI Research Center in Seoul.
The partnership focuses on improving TXR Robotics’ random piece-picking robot, which must identify and handle irregularly shaped objects in unpredictable industrial environments. To address this challenge, the companies plan to apply multimodal and reinforcement learning-based physical AI, enabling robots to perceive, learn, and adapt more like humans.
Through this collaboration, TXR Robotics will provide robot hardware, testing environments, and real-world operational data, as well as support for proof-of-concept demonstrations and field deployment. Tomorrow Robotics will contribute its expertise in AI vision, robot control, and algorithms based on Robot Foundation Models (RFM) to enhance robotic intelligence.
The two firms will establish a joint working group to ensure continuous collaboration and expand the scope of their partnership. Their goal is to move beyond research and deliver AI-powered robot solutions that can be rapidly commercialized and deployed across industrial sites.
“By combining the strengths of both companies, this partnership will accelerate real-world commercialization,” said Um In-seop, CEO of TXR Robotics. “We aim to quickly deliver optimized robot solutions tailored to a wide range of industrial environments.”
Separately, TXR Robotics was recently selected as a new member of the government-led K-Humanoid Alliance under Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The company plans to integrate its autonomous mobile robot technology with national robot AI models and humanoid core technologies, contributing to the development of next-generation robot platforms and broader real-world applications.
