파주시의 대표 특산물인 장단콩이 연말 이웃사랑의 매개체가 됐다.
파주장단콩연구회는 지역 내 어려운 이웃을 돕기 위해 파주장단콩 늦서리태 595kg(8,925,000원 상당)을 파주시에 기부했다고 16일 밝혔다.
파주장단콩은 서해안 해풍과 임진강의 맑은 물, 비옥한 토양이 어우러진 파주 장단 지역에서 재배되는 명품 콩이다.
특히 늦서리태는 일반 검은콩보다 재배 기간이 길고 까다로워 생산량이 적지만, 알이 굵고 속이 파래 영양가가 풍부한 것으로 알려져 있다.
단백질과 안토시아닌 함량이 높아 건강식품으로 각광받고 있으며, 고소한 맛과 부드러운 식감이 뛰어나 소비자들 사이에서 인기가 높다.
