파주시가 지역 농산물의 경쟁력 강화를 위한 새로운 거점을 마련했다.
파주시는 지난 12일 '파주시 제2농산물종합가공센터' 준공식을 열고 본격적인 운영 준비에 들어갔다고 밝혔다.
이날 준공식에는 김경일 파주시장과 농협 조합장, 농업인 단체 관계자, 지역 농업인 등이 참석해 새로운 농업 인프라 구축을 축하했다.

제2농산물종합가공센터는 지역 농업인이 생산한 농산물을 활용해 떡류, 덖음 차류, 절임 반찬류 등 다양한 가공품을 직접 개발하고 제조할 수 있는 전문 시설이다.
시는 특히 위생·안전 기준이 까다로운 떡 가공품의 품질 관리를 위해 내년 중 식품안전관리인증(HACCP) 취득을 목표로 단계적 준비를 진행할 계획이다.
이번에 조성된 가공센터는 단순한 제조 시설을 넘어 농업인의 소규모 가공 창업을 종합적으로 지원하는 플랫폼으로 설계됐다.
시제품 개발부터 주문자 상표 부착 생산(OEM)까지 전 과정을 지원하며, 최신 가공 장비와 포장 설비를 갖춰 농산물의 부가가치를 높이고 판로 확대에도 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
파주시 관계자는 "제2농산물종합가공센터는 파주시 농업의 경쟁력을 한 단계 더 높이는 계기가 될 것"이라며 "농업인이 생산에 집중할 수 있도록 가공과 판매는 파주시가 책임진다는 생각으로 지원을 강화하겠다"고 말했다.
파주시는 이번 준공을 계기로 로컬푸드 직매장 등 지역 내 다양한 판매처와의 연계를 강화할 방침이다.
