17일 대구시교육청은 2026년 유아교육 운영 방향을 공개했다. 유아기 올바른 인성 함양과 놀이 중심 탐구 학습 정착, 그리고 소외되는 아이 없이 모두를 지원하는 발달 지원이 주요 골자로, ▲놀이 중심 교육과정 강화 ▲유아 주도 탐구 학습 확대 ▲유초 연계교육 전면 시행 ▲유아 맞춤형 발달 지원 확대 등이 핵심 내용이다.
유아기 인성 교육은 놀이 중심 교육과정과 연계해 추진된다. ‘참·다·움’ 인성교육과 동시에 ‘1유치원 1브랜드’ 특색 프로그램이 도입된다. 감사 실천, 마음 챙김 명상, 감정조절 활동 등 정서 지원 프로그램도 확대된다. 또 가족이 함께하는 ‘가족공동체 몸-마음 키움 프로그램’을 통해 가정과 연계한 인성교육을 강화할 계획이다.
놀이에 탐구를 더한 수업도 본격화된다. 놀이 과정 속에서 질문과 탐색을 하며 사고력을 기를 수 있는 ‘놀이중심 탐구학습’을 확대하고, 유아 인공지능 감수성 교육, 디지털 선도 유치원, 생태 전환교육 실천학교 운영도 지속한다. 그림책을 활용한 문해력 강화 프로그램, 지역 도서관 체험 등 독서교육 지원도 이어진다.
유치원과 초등학교를 잇는 이음교육(연계교육)은 전면 확대된다. 이는 교육과정 연계를 통해 학부모의 사교육 의존도를 낮추고, 유아 단계에서부터 공교육 신뢰를 높이기 위한 조치다.
발달지원 사업은 맞춤형 지원 대상을 더욱 넓힌다. 학부모 만족도가 높았던 유아 맞춤형 발달지원 사업을 이주배경 유아까지 확대해, 발달 지연의 조기 발견과 진단, 연계 지원체계를 더욱 촘촘하게 구축한다는 계획이다.
이날 대구시교육청 행복관에서는 공·사립 유치원장, 교사, 유아교육 관계자 등 580여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘2026 대구유아교육 설명회’가 열려 정책 방향이 공유됐다.
강은희 대구시교육감은 “유아가 놀이 속에서 스스로 생각하고 배우며 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록 현장 중심의 유아교육을 꾸준히 실현해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
