국립창원대, ‘다름’을 ‘다채로움’으로… 경남형 사회통합 '성과공유회'

[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 국립창원대학교(총장 박민원)가 경남 지역의 다문화 인식 개선과 이주민 정착을 돕는 ‘글로벌 소통의 전초기지’로서 의미 있는 발자취를 남겼다. 국립창원대 다문화진흥센터는 18일, 한 해 동안 지역 사회 통합의 가교 역할을 수행한 ‘글로벌 다원 서포터즈 성과공유회’를 개최했다.

이번 행사는 지역혁신중심 대학지원체계(RISE)사업의 일환으로, 대학이 단순한 교육 기관을 넘어 지역 사회의 갈등을 치유하고 통합을 이끄는 핵심 주체임을 입증하는 자리가 됐다.

이번 성과공유회에서는 외국인 근로자와 유학생들의 글을 엮은 ‘문집’을 제작 발표했다. 서포터즈 학생들은 교육 과정에서 이주민들이 서툴지만 진심을 담아 써 내려간 글귀들을 직접 편집하고 다듬었다. 이 문집은 이방인이 아닌 '이웃'으로서 그들이 느끼는 한국 생활의 기쁨과 애환을 가감 없이 담아냈다.
