【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충청북도와 음성군은 19일 음성군청 군수 집무실에서 ㈜동진쎄미켐 및 ㈜동진첨단소재와 첨단소재 분야 투자협약을 체결했다.
이날 협약식에는 조병옥 음성군수를 비롯해 ㈜동진쎄미켐 이학준 상무, ㈜동진첨단소재 이원곤 대표와 김국태 상무 등 주요 관계자가 참석했다.
이번 협약은 반도체와 디스플레이 소재 분야의 첨단 기술을 갖춘 두 기업이 음성군에 생산 기반을 확대하기로 하면서, 지역 내 신성장 동력을 창출하고 경제 활성화를 이루기 위해 추진됐다.
협약에 따라 ㈜동진쎄미켐은 대소면 부윤리 일원에 2027년까지 총 458억 원을 투자해 반도체·디스플레이 산업과 연계된 첨단소재 생산시설을 구축할 계획이다.
㈜동진쎄미켐은 반도체 및 디스플레이용 전자재료를 주력으로 성장해 온 국내 대표 소재 기업이다. 국내외 반도체 및 디스플레이 주요 고객사에 핵심 소재를 공급하며 기술력을 축적해 왔으며, 이번 투자를 통해 국내 첨단소재 분야에서의 사업 기반을 한층 강화할 방침이다.
함께 협약을 체결한 ㈜동진쎄미켐의 가족사 ㈜동진첨단소재 또한 대소면 부윤리 일원에 추가 투자를 단행한다. ㈜동진첨단소재는 2027년까지 260억 원을 투자해 반도체·디스플레이 제조 공정과 연계된 소재 생산시설을 확충할 예정이다.
㈜동진첨단소재는 반도체·디스플레이용 소재를 전문으로 생산하는 기업으로, 동진쎄미켐과의 기술 협력 체계를 바탕으로 공정 전문성과 생산 효율을 강화해 왔다. 음성군에 본사를 두고 기업 활동을 이어오며, 지역에 기반을 둔 소재 기업으로 성장해 왔다는 점도 이번 투자의 배경으로 작용했다.

조병옥 군수는 “음성군에 뿌리를 내린 두 기업이 추가 투자를 결정한 것은 지역 산업 여건이 안정적으로 조성되고 있음을 보여주는 사례”라며 “이번 투자가 지역 경제에 새로운 활력을 불어넣을 것으로 기대한다. 투자계획이 원활히 추진될 수 있도록 적극적으로 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
㈜동진첨단소재 이원곤 대표는 “음성군에 본사를 둔 기업으로써 이번 투자를 통해 지역 내 일자리 창출과 지역경제 활성화에 기여하겠다”고 화답했다.
㈜동진쎄미켐 이학준 상무는 “이번 투자는 음성 사업장을 중심으로 생산 기능을 고도화하기 위한 계획의 일환으로, 변화하는 반도체·디스플레이 산업 환경에 대응할 수 있는 안정적인 생산 기반을 구축할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
