[브레이크뉴스 양주=김완영 기자] 경기도 양주시는 국토교통부가 12일 제2차 경기도 도시철도망 구축계획을 승인 고시함에 따라 덕정~옥정선이 신규 노선으로 최종 반영됐다고 전했다.
제2차 경기도 도시철도망 구축계획은 ‘도시철도법’에 따라 시·도지사가 10년 주기로 수립하는 법정계획으로, 이번 계획에는 총 12개 노선이 포함됐다. 이 가운데 덕정옥정선은 신규 노선 6개 중 하나로 지정돼 향후 사업 추진을 위한 법적 기반이 마련됐다.
덕정옥정선은 옥정중심지(7호선, 201역)와 GTX-C 덕정역(1호선)을 연결하는 총 3.9km 구간으로, 사업이 진행될 경우 GTX-C, 1호선, 7호선을 연결하는 환승 거점을 통한 지역 개발 및 수도권 접근성이 크게 향상될 것으로 기대된다.
시는 덕정옥정선의 원활한 사업추진을 위하여 재원 조달 방안 마련, 후속 행정 절차 이행 전략, 사업 타당성 강화 등을 포함한 종합 추진 전략을 마련할 계획이다.
