김 의장은 직접 연단에 올라 “대송 들판에서 흙먼지를 마시며 자라 철강의 불빛을 보며 가슴 뛰던 시절을 떠올린다”며 “정치는 말이 아니라 방향이고, 자리가 아니라 책임이라는 생각으로 책 제목을 ‘포항만, 시민만’이라고 붙였다”고 말했다.
