이와 함께 체육진흥 분야에서도 주요 사업을 안정적으로 추진하며 조직 운영 능력을 인정받았다.
특히 진천 스포츠타운 준공과 도민체전의 성공적인 개최를 이끌며 지역 발전을 위한 굵직한 성과를 남겼다.
이어 제26대 진천읍장으로 재임하며 군민과 적극적으로 소통하는 현장 중심의 행정을 펼쳤고, 주민을 섬기는 낮은 자세로 취약계층을 살피는 등 소외 없는 복지 실현에 힘써 왔다.
