【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군은 24일 증평기록관에서 증평 산림녹화기록물의 유네스코 세계기록유산 등재를 기념하는 전시 ‘애림가(愛林家) : 숲을 키운 사람들’을 개막했다.
이번 전시는 전후 황폐했던 산을 되살리기 위해 나섰던 증평 주민들의 산림 녹화 활동과 공동체의 노력이 어떻게 기록으로 남아 오늘의 유산이 됐는지를 조명한다.
전시는 내년 4월 30일까지 이어진다.
군은 지난 4월 증평 산림녹화기록물이 유네스코 세계기록유산에 등재된 이후 주민 인터뷰와 기록 수집을 병행하며 이번 전시를 준비했다.
전시에서는 문서와 사진, 박물 등 총 137점의 기록물이 공개되며, 특히 세계유산에 등재된 ‘남부5리 임야관리위원회’의 원본 기록물 17점도 함께 만나볼 수 있다.
이날 개막식에서는 증평 산림녹화기록물의 시작과 끝을 만들어 낸 고(故) 류근철 선생의 기록 기증식이 열려 눈길을 끌었다.
남부5리 임야관리위원회 총무이자 회장을 지낸 류 선생은 주민 주도의 산림녹화 활동을 체계적으로 기록해 온 인물로, 1958년부터 1986년까지 단 하루도 빠짐없이 일기를 써 내려간 기록가다.
이날 기증된 일기수첩 29권은 류 선생의 아들인 류중열 씨를 통해 증평군에 전달됐으며, 증평기록관에서 영구 보존해 전시·교육·출판 등 다양한 방식으로 주민들과 공유할 예정이다.
류중열 씨는 “아버지께서 남기신 수첩은 특별한 기록을 남기기 위해 쓴 것이 아니라, 하루하루를 성실히 살아낸 흔적이었다”며 “그 일상이 이제는 증평의 역사로 보존된다고 생각하니 감사하고 뿌듯하다”고 소회를 밝혔다.
이재영 군수는 “이번 전시는 숲을 가꾼 사람들의 손길뿐만 아니라, 그 시간을 기록으로 남긴 애림가(愛林家)의 시선을 함께 조명하는 자리”라며 “주민의 기록이 공동체의 유산으로 빛나는 과정을 통해 기록의 의미와 가치를 되새기는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

The 29 diary volumes donated that day were delivered to Jeungpyeong County by Ryu's son, Ryu Jung-yeol. The Jeungpyeong Archives will preserve them permanently and share them with residents through various means, including exhibitions, educational programs, and publications.
Mr. Ryu Jung-yeol said, "The notebook my father left behind wasn't written to leave behind a special record, but rather a trace of his diligent daily life. I'm grateful and proud to think that his daily life is now preserved as part of Jeungpyeong's history."
Governor Lee Jae-young said, "This exhibition not only highlights the efforts of those who nurtured the forest, but also the perspectives of forest lovers who documented their time. I hope this exhibition will serve as an opportunity to reflect on the meaning and value of records as residents' records shine as a community legacy."
