서구는 1일 새벽 와룡산 상리봉 해맞이공원에서 '2026 해맞이 행사'를 진행했다. 이날 행사장에는 추운 날씨에도 불구하고 많은 주민들이 모여 각자의 새해 소망을 나눴다.
행사는 계성고등학교 앞에서 열린 날뫼북춤 지신밟기와 문화공연으로 막을 열었다. 전통 공연은 새해의 액운을 막고 복을 기원하는 의미를 담아, 분위기를 한층 북돋웠다.
이어 상리봉 정상에서는 구민들이 해 뜨는 순간을 기다리며 카운트다운을 하고, 병오년 첫 해를 함께 맞이했다.
현장에는 신년운세 타로점 등 주민들이 직접 참여할 수 있는 다양한 프로그램이 마련돼 가족 단위 참가자들의 발길이 이어졌다.
당일 기온이 영하 7도 안팎까지 떨어졌지만, 서구청은 행사장에 인력을 배치하고 동선을 세심히 관리하는 등 안전에 만전을 기해 사고 없이 행사를 마쳤다.
류한국 서구청장은 “2026년 새해를 맞아 모든 구민이 건강하고 안전하게 한 해를 보내길 기원한다”며 “추운 날씨에도 함께해주신 구민 여러분께 감사드리며, 서구가 앞으로도 더욱 살기 좋은 도시로 발전할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
