교육청은 인근 유치원 간 연계를 통해 통합 돌봄 체계를 구축, 학부모 만족도가 95%를 넘는 등 큰 호응을 얻고 있다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업에는 동부·서부·남부·달성 등 4개 권역에서 총 12개 소규모 병설유치원이 참여한다. 권역별로 4개 거점유치원이 중심이 돼 운영된다.
동부권역에서는 동인초 병설유치원이 거점이 되며, 동덕초·삼덕초 병설유치원이 연계된다. 서부권역은 학남초 병설유치원을 거점으로 동평초·학정초 병설유치원이 함께한다. 남부권역은 덕인초 병설유치원이, 달성권역은 매곡초 병설유치원이 각각 거점 역할을 맡아 인근 유치원 원아들을 통합해 돌보고 있다.
‘거점형 방과후 과정’은 인근 소규모 유치원들이 한 곳의 거점유치원에서 방과후 과정을 함께 운영하는 방식이다. 각 거점유치원이 운영을 직접 맡고, 대구시교육청이 행정과 재정 지원을 제공한다. 이 사업은 ‘유보통합 시범교육청’ 과제의 일환으로 추진 중이다.
구체적인 운영 내용도 학부모와 유아의 실질적 수요를 반영해 마련됐다. 돌봄 시간은 최대 오후 7시까지 연장됐고, 거점유치원까지 통학차량도 운행해 아이들의 안전한 이동을 지원한다.
점심 도시락을 제공하는 한편, 놀이 중심의 특성화 프로그램과 누리과정 연계 체험활동 등으로 방학 중에도 유아들의 일상과 학습이 안정적으로 이어질 수 있도록 했다.
