[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 사천시가 새해부터 기존의 관람 위주 관광에서 벗어나 체험과 스토리가 있는 테마·체류형 관광 프로그램으로 '사천사랑 시티투어'를 전면 개편 운영한다고 7일 밝혔다.
그동안 사천사랑 시티투어는 문화관광, 체험코스, 역사탐방, 항공산업관광, 달빛관광, 1박 2일 코스 등 다양한 형태로 운영돼 왔으나, 관광 동선이 길고 일정이 다소 복잡해 장거리 이용객에게 부담이 된다는 의견이 있었다.
또한, 일부 코스는 관람 중심 일정으로 구성돼 체험 요소가 부족하고, 오후 시간대에 운영되던 달빛관광 코스는 이용 수요 감소로 운영 효율성에 한계를 드러냈다.
이에 사천시는 관광객 만족도 제고와 관광 트렌드 변화에 대응하기 위해 시티투어 전반을 재검토하고, 사천의 자연·역사·산업 자원을 보다 효과적으로 담아낼 수 있도록 코스를 전면 재구성했다.
이번 개편을 통해 사천사랑 시티투어는 테마가 분명한 테마코스 4개와 체류형코스 1개 등 총 5개 코스로 단순화되며, 관광객이 보다 편안하고 몰입도 높은 여행을 즐길 수 있도록 개선됐다.
4개의 테마코스는 바다투어, 오감체험투어, 이순신 승전길 투어, 우주항공 투어로, 각 코스는 주제에 맞춰 관광지를 재선정하고 이동 시간을 조정해 효율적인 동선을 확보했다.
특히, 새롭게 신설된 이순신 승전길 투어는 사천해전을 중심으로 선진리성, 대방진굴항 등 역사 유적지를 연계해 지역 고유의 역사 스토리를 체험할 수 있는 코스로 구성됐다.
기존 항공산업관광 코스는 우주항공 투어로 확대 개편돼, 사천의 핵심 산업인 항공우주 분야를 보다 입체적으로 경험할 수 있도록 했다.

반면, 이용 수요가 감소한 달빛관광 코스는 이번 개편 과정에서 과감히 제외하고, 체류형 관광에 집중하는 방향으로 운영 체계를 정비했다.
운영 방식 또한 개선돼 바다투어, 오감체험투어, 이순신 승전길 투어는 매주 화요일부터 일요일까지 운영되며, 우주항공 투어와 별빛투어는 매월 둘째·넷째 금요일에 운영된다.
출발지는 사천시외버스터미널과 삼천포시외버스터미널, 진주역 등으로 확대해 접근성을 높였다.
