고양특례시가 시민들의 생활안정과 복지향상을 위해 '2026년 고양특례시 시민안전보험'에 가입했다고 밝혔다.
이번 보험은 고양시에 주민등록을 둔 모든 시민을 대상으로 하며, 등록외국인과 외국국적동포도 포함된다.
시민들은 별도의 가입 절차 없이 자동으로 보험 혜택을 받게 되며, 보험료는 시가 전액 부담한다.
보험 기간은 2026년 1월 1일부터 12월 31일까지 1년간이다.
개인이 가입한 다른 보험과 중복 보상이 가능하며, 고양시 지역뿐 아니라 전국 어디서 발생한 사고도 보장받을 수 있다.
보상 항목은 총 14개로, 사회재난 및 자연재난으로 인한 사망·후유장해·상해진단 위로금을 비롯해 폭발·화재·붕괴·산사태 관련 피해, 대중교통 이용 중 사고, 스쿨존 교통사고 부상치료비 등을 포함한다.
특히 올해는 개인형 이동장치(공유용) 이용자가 급증하는 추세를 반영해 관련 사망·후유장해 보상 항목을 신규로 추가했다.
이를 통해 전동킥보드 등 공유 개인형 이동장치 이용 중 발생하는 사고의 보상 사각지대를 해소했다.
보험금 청구는 사고 발생일로부터 3년 이내에 가능하다.
보험사 통합상담센터로 문의한 후, 청구서와 필요 서류를 접수하면 된다. 보험사의 서류 심사를 거쳐 보험금이 지급된다.
