주인공은 신상규(35) 씨다. 그는 4년제 대학에서 무역학을 전공한 뒤 여러 차례 취업을 시도했지만 좀처럼 합격 소식을 듣지 못했다. 방향에 대한 고민이 깊어지던 중, 대학 시절 경험했던 일본 인턴십과 현장 중심 기업문화가 떠올랐다. 결국 신 씨는 일본 취업이라는 새로운 목표를 세우고 진로를 다시 설계했다.
