군은 ‘활력 넘치는 체육환경 조성으로 군민의 건강한 삶 구현’이라는 정책목표 아래 전문체육과 생활체육은 물론, 장애인체육까지 각 분야가 균형 있게 발전하는 체육행정을 펼칠 방침이다.
군은 주민들이 피부로 느끼는 체육 복지를 실현하기 위해 인프라 확충과 관리에 속도를 낸다.
우선 음성읍 읍내리 470번지 일원(음성체육관 부지)에 조성되는 ‘음성 시니어친화형 국민체육센터 건립사업’은 총사업비 59억 원을 투입해 진행된다. 지상 3층, 연면적 1200.87㎡ 규모로 체육관 증축을 통해 실내체육관, GX룸, 건강측정 및 운동처방실을 조성 중으로 올해 말까지 준공 예정이다.
원남면 보룡리 387-1번지 일원에는 ‘원남 소규모 체육관 건립사업’이 진행 중이다. 2023년부터 2026년까지 총사업비 45억 8000만 원이 투입되는 이 사업은 부지면적 9506㎡, 연면적 985.27㎡(지상 1층) 규모로, 농구장 규격의 실내체육관과 다목적실, 사무실 등을 갖춘 생활체육 공간을 갖추며 올해 말 준공을 목표로 조성 중이다.
