【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=국민의힘 포항시 남구·울릉군 당원협의회(위원장 이상휘 국회의원)는 10일 2026년 병오년 새해를 맞아 신년 인사회를 열고 지역 발전과 당의 역할 강화를 위한 방향을 논의했다고 12일 밝혔다.
행사는 당협 사무실에서 열렸으며, 이강덕 포항시장과 남한권 울릉군수, 지역 시·도의원, 당협 중앙위원회 및 각급 위원회 관계자, 당원 등 400여 명이 참석했다.
이상휘 의원은 인사말에서 “지난 한 해 동안 변함없는 믿음과 헌신으로 당을 지켜주신 당원 동지 여러분께 깊이 감사드린다”며 “병오년 비상하는 붉은 말의 기운처럼 포항과 울릉이 다시 힘차게 도약하는 한 해가 되길 바란다”고 말했다. 이어 “무엇보다 민생 안정을 최우선 과제로 삼아야 한다”고 강조했다.
이 의원은 또 “오는 6월 지방선거를 앞두고 지역의 미래를 위한 준비와 점검이 그 어느 때보다 중요하다”며 “국민의힘은 책임정당으로서 지역 현안을 세밀하게 살피고, 지역 발전 전략을 체계적으로 준비하겠다”고 밝혔다.
조직 운영 방향과 관련해서는 “변화하는 민심에 맞춰 조직 체계를 더욱 유연하고 역동적으로 재정비하겠다”며 “참신하고 유능한 지역 인재를 적극 발굴해 주민에게 신뢰받는 정당, 포항과 울릉의 미래를 책임지는 당협으로 만들겠다”고 했다.
이날 행사에서는 포항 출신 이진원 청년당원이 새해 각오를 담은 결의문을 낭독하며, 청년 세대가 지역 발전의 주체로서 책임 있는 역할을 하겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다.
행사 말미에는 참석자들이 ‘지역발전’과 ‘민생안정’을 함께 외치며, 2026년을 포항과 울릉이 다시 도약하는 원년으로 만들겠다는 의지를 다졌다.

At the end of the event, attendees chanted "regional development" and "stabilizing people's livelihoods," reaffirming their commitment to making 2026 the year of Pohang and Ulleung's renewed leap forward.
